Caol Ila MOCH Islay Single Malt 43% ABV 0.7l in a gift box online kaufen

Caol Ila Moch is a lighter and more approachable take on the classic Caol Ila single malt whisky from the Scottish island of Islay. The name ‘Moch’ comes from Gaelic and means ‘dawn’, which reflects the fresh and bright character of this whisky. In contrast to the distillery’s standard, heavily peated bottlings, the Moch offers a more refined balance of peaty smoke, citrus freshness and elegant sweetness.

Produced at the Caol Ila Distillery, which has been operating on the coast of Islay since 1846, this single malt is distilled from peated barley malt and matured in American oak casks. By omitting an age statement, the Moch focuses on a light, fresh and harmonious flavour profile that is exciting for both Islay newcomers and experienced whisky enthusiasts alike.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold.

Nose: Light peaty smoke, fresh citrus notes, green apples, sea salt, subtle sweetness.

Palate: Smooth, slightly sweet, creamy malt, lemon zest, vanilla, gentle smokiness.

Finish: Medium-length, dry, slightly spicy, with subtle smoke and maritime notes.

Caol Ila Moch is an excellent single malt for anyone who wants to enjoy the typical Islay smokiness in a lighter form. Served neat or with a few drops of water, it reveals its full flavour. Thanks to its fresh citrus and maritime notes, it pairs perfectly with smoked salmon, oysters or creamy cheese. It also cuts a fine figure in a whisky sour with a smoky twist.
