Hödl Hof Original Zwetschke Schnaps is a premium fruit brandy that combines Styria’s centuries-old distilling tradition with modern craftsmanship. Produced in Hödl Hof’s long-established distillery, the focus is on the highest quality and regional ingredients. The hand-picked Zwetschken (plums) used come from the estate’s own plum orchard as well as from selected fruit growers in the region.

Production follows the old Styrian tradition of double distillation in copper stills. The spirit is processed particularly gently in a 300-litre ‘Raubrand’ still and a 200-litre ‘Feinbrand’ still, both made of pure copper. After harvesting, the fruit is pitted, fermented under temperature-controlled conditions and then processed using a method known as ‘heart-piece distillation’ – only the purest and highest-quality distillate is extracted. The schnapps is then matured in wood, glass or stainless steel until it has achieved its perfect balance of flavours.

Palate: Mild and fruity, with expressive plum flavours and slightly spicy undertones.

Finish: Smooth and long, with a harmonious balance of fruit and a subtle hint of marzipan.

Hödl Hof Plum Schnapps is best served neat at room temperature or slightly chilled to bring out its delicate aromas to the full. It is perfect as a classic digestif after a hearty meal. It also reveals its fruity depth when paired with a selection of strong cheeses or dark chocolate.
