San Matias Tequila Añejo Gran Reserva is a luxurious añejo tequila which, with an alcohol content of 40 % vol., offers an exceptional tasting experience. This fine tequila is made from 100 per cent blue Weber agave, harvested from the red-soil fields of the Jalisco highlands at the renowned Casa San Matías. The distinctive soil and unique microclimate of the highlands give the agave its exceptional quality and the intense flavour that makes this tequila so special.

The San Matias Añejo Gran Reserva is aged for at least 3 years in French oak casks, which imparts a complex array of flavours including dark fruits, caramel, vanilla and a subtle oakiness. As these are bottlings from 2002, we would like to point out that the corks may be somewhat brittle in places due to their age – please take particular care when opening them!

This tequila is a true meisterwerk, perfect for enjoying neat or in exclusive cocktails. The elegant 0.35-litre bottle makes it an ideal gift for tequila lovers or a special treat for discerning connoisseurs.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark, luminous amber.

Nose: Aromas of baked apples, vanilla, cinnamon and a delicate hint of oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and smooth with notes of dried fruit, caramel, vanilla, oak and a hint of cinnamon.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and harmonious with an elegant hint of wood and spice.

San Matias Tequila Añejo Gran Reserva is ideal for enjoying neat, on the rocks or with a few drops of water to intensify the flavours. It pairs perfectly with mature cheeses, grilled meats or dark chocolate. The tequila also reveals its full complexity and elegance when paired with a high-quality cigar.
