Plantation Rum ORIGINAL DARK Barbados & Jamaica is a characterful blended rum from Barbados and Jamaica, with an alcohol content of 40 per cent, available in a 0.7-litre bottle. This blend combines different styles of rum from two Caribbean countries with a rich tradition of rum-making. The rums from Barbados contribute a balanced, rounder base character to the blend, whilst the components from Jamaica provide additional intensity and the typically expressive island style. This careful blending results in a dark rum that reflects both the character of its Caribbean origins and the Plantation house style. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber with coppery highlights.

Nose: Ripe tropical fruits, banana, vanilla, caramel and spicy notes, accompanied by subtle toasty aromas.

Palate: Full-bodied and robust with dark caramel, ripe fruit, banana, vanilla, spices and slightly toasty wood notes.

Finish: Long-lasting and spicy with dark fruit sweetness, caramel and subtle toasted notes.

Plantation Original Dark is particularly well-suited to cocktails and long drinks and makes an ideal base for a Mai Tai, Dark ’n’ Stormy or various tiki drinks, though it can also be served over ice. With food, it pairs well with BBQ ribs, pulled pork, grilled meat or spiced marinated poultry, whose roasted flavours complement its robust character. As a sweet accompaniment, it goes well with banana desserts, dark chocolate, caramelised pineapple or caramel-based desserts.
