Jägermeister is a world-renowned herbal liqueur speciality from Germany with a rich tradition. With an alcohol content of 35 % vol., it is renowned for its unique blend of 56 carefully selected herbs, roots, flowers and fruits, which give it its unmistakable flavour. The original recipe has remained unchanged since it was first produced in 1934 and is still a closely guarded secret today.

Production begins with the careful maceration of the botanical ingredients, followed by several months’ maturation in oak barrels to ensure the flavours harmonise perfectly. The result is a complex, deeply spicy liqueur with a harmonious balance of sweet, bitter and spicy notes. Jägermeister is traditionally served ice-cold at -18 °C as a shot, but is also excellent as a base for cocktails and long drinks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep dark amber with warm brown hues.

Nose: An intense herbal bouquet with notes of cinnamon, ginger, orange peel and cloves.

Palate: Full-bodied and spicy, with a perfect balance of sweetness, bitterness and subtle herbal nuances.

Finish: Long-lasting, with a subtle herbal spice and a hint of sweetness.

Jägermeister is ideal as an ice-cold shot, but also reveals its complex flavours in cocktails and long drinks. The Jägermeister Mule, served with ginger beer and lime, is particularly popular. The Jägerbomb, mixed with an energy drink, is also a classic. Culinary, it pairs superbly with grilled meat, tangy cheese or dark chocolate, which complement its spicy and sweet notes.
