Monkey 47 Black Forest Dry Gin is a premium gin known for its exceptional quality and unique flavour profile. It is named after its 47 botanical ingredients, which originate from the Black Forest region of Germany, specifically the Black Forest. The gin is produced by the Monkey 47 Distillery in the small town of Lossburg.

Monkey 47 is produced using a complex and time-consuming distillation process. The base of the gin is made from molasses and the botanicals are soaked in pure molasses alcohol for several days. The mixture is then distilled in small batches in traditional copper stills to allow the flavours to develop and combine.

Monkey 47's botanical recipe is a well-kept secret, but it includes a variety of ingredients from around the world. These include traditional gin botanicals such as juniper berries, coriander and angelica root, as well as unique components such as cranberries, acacia flowers, spruce shoots and blackberries.

Monkey 47 is presented in a distinctive and elegant bottle whose label is decorated with a monkey motif. The number 47 not only refers to the number of botanicals, but also pays homage to a story from the 1940s, when an Englishman named Montgomery Collins developed the original recipe for the gin.
