The Slyrs Distillery, which has been producing Upper Bavaria’s first single malt whisky since 1999, is renowned for its masterful craftsmanship and its regional ties to Schliersee, the distillery’s home town. The name ‘Slyrs’ is a creative, pseudo-Gaelic variation on the place name and emphasises the distillery’s deep roots in its home region.

This special whisky is initially matured for three years in American white oak casks, giving it a robust and harmonious foundation. However, the Slyrs Champions Malt Whisky acquires its unique finish in former wheat beer casks, lending it an unmistakable Bavarian character. With its rich flavour and Bavarian heritage, this whisky is a true meisterwerk that not only represents the region but also reflects the passion and tradition of FC Bayern Munich.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light amber.

Nose: Fruity, with notes of ripe pears and bananas, and a hint of malt.

Palate: Mild, with pleasant malty flavours, fruity notes of bananas and hints of honey.

Finish: Long-lasting, spicy, mineral.

The Slyrs FC Bayern Munich Champions Malt Whisky is excellent enjoyed neat or with a little water to bring out its full flavour. It pairs perfectly with a selection of mature cheeses such as Emmental or Gruyère, as well as hearty Bavarian dishes such as roast pork or pretzels.
