Description
Tschida Angerhof Trockenbeerenauslese Sämling 88 2017 8.5% in a 0.375 l bottle is an exceptional Austrian Prädikat wine speciality and epitomises the fine art of producing noble sweet wines in Burgenland. The renowned Angerhof Weingut Tschida is one of the best-known producers of noble sweet wines and has earned an outstanding international reputation for its high-quality Trockenbeerenauslese wines. The 2017 vintage impressively combines concentration, elegance and complexity, and strikingly demonstrates the potential of the traditional Sämling 88 grape variety.
The Sämling 88 grape variety, also known internationally as Scheurebe, is ideally suited to the production of top-quality noble sweet wines. Thanks to natural noble rot (Botrytis cinerea), the sugar, acidity and aromatic compounds in the berries become concentrated in a unique way. The result is a wine of exceptional density and aromatic intensity, yet one that is underpinned by remarkable freshness. With an alcohol content of 8.5% vol., this Trockenbeerenauslese from Austria is harmonious and well-balanced. The 2017 vintage impresses with its excellent ageing potential and develops additional complexity and depth as it matures. For lovers of great dessert wines, this rarity ranks among the most impressive examples of its category.
