The Kilchoman 100% Islay The 14th Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2024 represents the consistent implementation of the Kilchoman Distillery's 100% Islay philosophy. This edition was distilled from Islay-grown barley from the 2013 and 2014 harvests and then matured for at least 9 years in a carefully selected combination of bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. For the 14th Edition 2024, distillery founder Anthony Wills opted for a precise cask ratio of 9:1 bourbon to Oloroso sherry, which clearly defines the structure of this bottling. This Islay single malt Scotch whisky was bottled at a strong 50% vol. without chill filtration and without colorant.
The combination of predominantly bourbon cask maturation and a targeted proportion of Oloroso sherry casks gives the Kilchoman 100% Islay 14th Edition a balance of depth and freshness. While the bourbon casks emphasize the natural citrus sweetness and the floral peat smoke notes of the 100% Islay spirit, the sherry casks provide additional richness and structure. As with all bottlings in the 100% Islay range, every stage of production takes place entirely on the island of Islay, from sowing the barley to harvesting, malting, distillation, maturation and bottling.
