The long maturation in a Pedro Ximénez cask lends the whisky its striking black-garnet colour, as well as a spectrum of aromas ranging from dark chocolate through to roasted notes and rich dried fruits. The aromatic structure unfolds layer by layer, evoking luxurious dessert notes, complemented by spicy facets and an elegant sherry character. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark mahogany.

Nose: A blend of mocha, black cherry and dark chocolate, followed by crème brûlée, raisins, brown sugar and Ingwerer.

Palate: Velvety layers of espresso and crème caramel, accompanied by black grapes and mint-chocolate ganache.

Finish: Long-lasting, deep and smooth with dark sherry notes and a delicate sweetness.

This single malt pairs superbly with rich desserts such as dark chocolate tart, mocha crème or fig pastries, as its intense sherry maturation delicately complements these flavours. It creates an exciting, aromatically rich combination when paired with mature blue cheese or nutty, spicy hard cheeses. It is also well-suited to accompanying high-quality cigars, whose earthy and chocolatey tones blend with its dark notes.
