The Salzl Chardonnay Selection 2024 with 13% vol. in a 0.75 l bottle comes from the renowned Salzl Seewinkelhof winery in Burgenland and impressively demonstrates how precisely and elegantly an Austrian Chardonnay can be vinified. Made from 100% Chardonnay, this white wine impresses with its clear style, fine fruity aromas and exceptional balance. Maturing for 5 months on the fine lees gives it a creamy texture and depth without sacrificing freshness.

Salzl's Selection line stands for particularly characterful and full-bodied wines that harmoniously combine terroir, maturity and structure. The Chardonnay 2024 impresses with its elegance, juicy fruit and delicate structure. Ready to drink from 2025 and with ageing potential until 2029, it is a sophisticated accompaniment to food as well as an expressive soloist. Served at 10-12 °C, this wine unfolds its full complexity and reveals the signature of a house that stands for modern, authentic wines with an emphasis on terroir. The nose reveals ripe, partly exotic fruit notes of apricot, pear, pineapple and passion fruit, accompanied by fine Burgundian hints, meadow herbs and a subtle mineral spiciness. An animating interplay of fruit and acidity unfolds on the palate, accompanied by notes of ripe gooseberries, yellow apples, apricot and a hint of almond. Delicate honeydew melon and nettle notes lend depth, while a pleasantly creamy texture and the salty, mineral component provide tension and length. The finish is elegant, delicate, powerful and long-lasting with a fine spiciness on the finish that underlines the wonderful drinking flow.
