Manufacturing & Craftsmanship

Allesverloren specialises in traditional winemaking, focusing on Portuguese grape varieties such as Tinta Barocca and Touriga Nacional, as well as classics like Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are characterised by depth, complexity and ageing potential.

Region & Origin

The vineyards cover 227 hectares in the Swartland and benefit from a unique terroir of slate and sandstone soils. The Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and cool nights, gives the grapes intense aromas and structure.

Shiraz: Spicy, full-bodied with notes of dark berries and pepper.
Cabernet Sauvignon: Full-bodied, structured with aromas of blackcurrant and oak.
Fine Old Vintage: Port-style with rich aromas of dried fruit and chocolate.
Chenin Blanc: Fresh, fruity with citrus notes – part of the range since 2017.

What does the name ‘Allesverloren’ mean?

The name dates back to 1704, when the original farmhouse was burnt down following a raid – ‘all was lost’.
