Ardnahoe – Islay single malt whisky with a fresh perspective

Tips for enjoying

Best enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a drop of water to bring out its complexity. These whiskies are also excellent with cheese or seafood.

Manufacture & Style

Heavily peated barley malt (approx. 40 ppm) is used here. After fermentation lasting up to 70 hours, the spirit is distilled in copper pot stills – uniquely featuring worm tubs: an old cooling technology that imparts depth and a smooth texture.

Inaugural Release & Infinite Hole

Ardnahoe 5 Years Old INAUGURAL RELEASE Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 50% ABV 0.7l in a gift box: First release, combined bourbon and Oloroso cask maturation – aromas of shortbread, baked apples, lemon zest and a long smoky finish.
Ardnahoe Infinite Loch Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 50% ABV 0.7l in gift box: Core release by the water – sea salt and dark chocolate on the nose; smoke, citrus and fruit on the finish.

Region & Surroundings

In Port Askaig, on the remote north-east coast of Islay, Ardnahoe lies between Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain. The distillery offers breathtaking views across Loch Ardnahoe and the Sound of Islay – a place as wild and rugged as its whisky.

Maturation & Cask Profiles

Ardnahoe is matured in first-fill American white oak bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. The on-site ageing process rounds off the style with a maritime freshness and intense oakiness.

Conclusion

Ardnahoe brings a breath of fresh air to the Islay tradition: smoky, complex and crafted using modern techniques. An exciting whisky for connoisseurs and newcomers alike – available exclusively at delicando.
