The winery is an architectural landmark – a natural stone building featuring seven elegant arches, a grand staircase and a breathtaking view over the Rioja vineyards. Visitors can look forward to a perfect blend of wine, art and space – including tastings, events and a wine shop.

Bodegas Campillo is one of Spain’s most award-winning wineries. Its 2014 Gran Reserva was named ‘Best Spanish Red Wine’ at the International Wine Challenge. Numerous other wines have received top ratings from Parker, James Suckling, Mundus Vini and Decanter.

At the winery, winemaking is regarded as an art form. The grapes are harvested and selected exclusively by hand. The entire winemaking process takes place across five levels using gravity to ensure gentle handling. Campillo consistently opts for ageing in French and American oak barrels – often for many months – to promote depth and ageing potential. The wines reflect their origin, vintage and the winemakers’ signature style.

Campillo is a member of Sustainable Wineries for Climate Protection and is ISO 14001 certified. The winery utilises solar power and water management systems and promotes biodiversity in the vineyard – in line with the principles of responsible wine production.

The Rioja Alavesa is renowned for its calcareous clay soils, its temperate, Atlantic-influenced climate and its sheltered location at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria. These conditions provide the ideal environment for the Tempranillo grape variety , which produces particularly structured and elegant wines here. The Campillo vineyards are situated at an altitude of over 600 metres – a distinctive feature that brings freshness and aromatic precision to the wines.
