The Savanna distillery was founded in 1870 and has since made a name for itself as one of the world’s finest rum distilleries. Its unique location on Réunion offers ideal conditions for growing sugar cane and producing top-quality rum. The distillery is also a leader in the development of Rhum Agricole, a rum made directly from fresh sugarcane juice and characterised by its fresh, botanical aromas.

Savanna Rhum is made from the finest sugarcane on Réunion, which thrives in the island’s fertile volcanic soil. The cane is harvested by hand to preserve its quality. The juice is then either fermented directly to produce Rhum Agricole, or processed into molasses to distil traditional rum.

Distillation takes place in copper stills, which are renowned for concentrating the aromas and imparting the rum’s characteristic depth and complexity. Maturation occurs in a combination of new and old oak casks, which lend the rum its unique aromas of vanilla, caramel and spices.
