The Weingut Erwin Sabathi has its roots in Southern Styria, one of Austria’s most renowned wine regions. For several generations, the Sabathi family has been dedicated to viticulture and, over the years, has developed a unique style that highlights the region’s terroir. Under the leadership of Erwin Sabathi, who has been running the Weingut Erwin Sabathi since the 1990s, the estate has continued to evolve and has established itself as one of the region’s finest producers. Erwin Sabathi’s philosophy is based on a deep understanding of the soils, the climate and the vines, which together form the foundation for wines of the highest quality.

Erwin Sabathi’s vineyards are located in Southern Styria, a region renowned for its steep slopes and unique microclimate. The soils consist mainly of shell limestone, slate and sand, which lend the wines a distinctive minerality and elegance. The region’s climate, characterised by warm days and cool nights, allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, resulting in wines with intense aromas and a delicate acidity. Erwin Sabathi places great emphasis on natural viticulture and largely avoids the use of herbicides and pesticides. The vineyards are tended with the utmost care to conserve natural resources and reflect the region’s unique terroir in the wines.

The Weingut Erwin Sabathi is best known for its excellent white wines, which impress with their clarity, precision and finesse. Particularly noteworthy are the Sauvignon Blancs, which rank among the best in Austria. The ‘Südsteiermark DAC Sauvignon Blanc’ is a prime example of the winery’s style: fresh, lively and with a characteristic minerality. In addition, Weingut Erwin Sabathi also offers first-class Chardonnays, Pinot Blancs and Yellow Muscat wines, which likewise impress with their elegance and depth. Every wine is vinified with the utmost care and reflects the winery’s commitment to the highest quality.

Erwin Sabathi’s wines are characterised by their delicate structure, distinct fruit aromas and pronounced minerality. The Sauvignon Blanc impresses with notes of citrus, green apple and a subtle herbal spice, whilst the Chardonnay captivates with its ripe fruit aromas and delicate oak notes. The Pinot Blanc is elegant and complex, with aromas of pear, almonds and a hint of vanilla. Erwin Sabathi’s wines are excellent accompaniments to fish dishes, seafood, white meat and fresh salads. However, they are also a delight on their own and perfectly showcase the subtleties of South Styrian winemaking.
