The Highland Park Distillery was founded in 1798 and is one of Scotland’s oldest and most renowned whisky distilleries. It is situated in Kirkwall on the Orkney island of Mainland, making it Scotland’s northernmost distillery. Surrounded by rugged countryside and stormy seas, Highland Park whisky reflects the unique climatic conditions of the Orkney Islands. Today, the distillery is part of The Edrington Group and produces around 2.5 million litres of whisky annually.

Highland Park Thorfinn is one of six exclusive bottlings in Highland Park’s Warriors Edition series. Named after Thorfinn, the most powerful man of his time who exercised complete control over the Orkney Islands, he is described in the Orkney Saga as a prominent chieftain. His remains rest in St Magnus’s Cathedral on Orkney, which underlines his historical significance.

This whisky impresses not only with its flavour but also visually: presented in an elegant box adorned with gold and high-gloss lacquer, it stands out as a special collector’s item. Compared to the other whiskies in the range, the Thorfinn has the highest proportion of ex-sherry casks, which gives it exceptional depth and an intense, rich character.

Tasting Note

Nose: Cedarwood, mango, coriander, vanilla, hints of berries and spices.

Palate: Complex, ginger, oak, hints of spices, peat.

Finish: Long-lasting, spicy, smoky.
