Tasting Note

Colour: Crystal clear; when diluted with water, it takes on its characteristic milky cloudiness (‘lion’s milk’).

Nose: Intense notes of aniseed, accompanied by a subtle sweetness and a hint of grapes.

Palate: Velvety and full-bodied, with a fine balance between the fresh aromas of aniseed and the delicate fruitiness of grape spirit.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and pleasantly spicy.

Tekirdağ Rakısı is traditionally diluted with water or served on the rocks and is the perfect accompaniment to a typical meze platter. It pairs particularly well with spicy dips, grilled fish, seafood or marinated cheese. For an authentic experience, it can be served with grilled meat, olives or fresh flatbread. This raki is not just a drink, but an experience that complements the rich Turkish culinary culture in a special way.
