Père Magloire Calvados FINE V.S. is a premium apple brandy from Normandy, prized for its freshness, fruitiness and gentle elegance. Père Magloire is one of France’s most renowned Calvados producers and looks back on a tradition stretching back over 200 years. The ‘V.S.’ (Very Special) denotes at least two years’ ageing in oak casks, which gives this Calvados its characteristic balance between fruity and woody notes.

Made from carefully selected Normandy apples, this Calvados is distilled using traditional methods to preserve its fresh aroma. With an alcohol content of 40% vol., it offers a pleasant intensity and is suitable both for drinking neat and as a versatile ingredient in cocktails or for enhancing dishes.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with warm highlights.

Nose: Fresh apple notes with hints of vanilla and subtle woody nuances.

Palate: Fruity and lively with sweet apple flavours, subtle spices and a hint of honey.

Finish: Medium-length with a gentle blend of fruitiness and subtle oak notes.

Père Magloire Calvados FINE V.S. is perfect as a digestif after a meal or as a base for classic cocktails such as the Calvados Sour or the Normandy Old Fashioned. In the kitchen, it can be used to enhance sauces or desserts, particularly crêpes, apple tarts or caramelised fruit. As a food pairing, it goes superbly with Camembert, goat’s cheese or air-dried ham, as its fruity and slightly spicy notes create a harmonious combination of flavours.
