Koval BOURBON Single Barrel Whisky is a unique bourbon with an alcohol content of 47% vol. and a bottle size of 0.5 litres. Produced by the Koval Distillery, which was founded in Chicago in 2008, this bourbon is an excellent example of the company’s innovative approach. Koval is renowned for its organic and kosher bottlings, which are certified in the USA. Unlike traditional bourbon recipes, Koval Bourbon uses the unusual ingredient millet in its mash instead of rye or wheat. This special ingredient gives the bourbon a particularly smooth texture and a unique aroma.

Koval’s distillates mature in gallon casks (113.55 litres), resulting in rapid and intense interaction with the cask. This allows the whisky to develop a deep golden colour and a rich bouquet. Koval BOURBON Single Barrel is bottled from individual casks, meaning that each bottle reflects the unique characteristics of its respective cask. The bourbon offers a harmonious combination of sweet caramel and vanilla notes, alongside a subtle oak spiciness and a hint of fruitiness.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber with a slight sheen.

Nose: Aromas of vanilla, caramel and a delicate hint of oak, accompanied by a subtle fruity note.

Palate: Full-bodied and well-balanced, with sweet vanilla and caramel notes, a mild oakiness and a hint of fruit.

Finish: Long-lasting, with a pleasant warmth and a combination of caramel and oak that fades gently.

Koval BOURBON Single Barrel Whisky is excellent enjoyed neat or on the rocks to experience its complex flavours. It pairs perfectly with grilled meats such as steak or lamb, as well as with strong cheeses such as Cheddar or Gruyère. Koval Bourbon also provides an elegant, full-bodied base in cocktails such as an Old Fashioned or a Whisky Sour, striking a perfect balance between sweetness and spice.
