PUNI SOLE is a characterful Italian single malt whisky from the PUNI Distillery, Italy’s first and, to date, only whisky distillery. Situated in the Vinschgau Valley in South Tyrol, PUNI combines Scottish distilling expertise with Italian flair and Alpine terroir. The SOLE expression – Italian for ‘sun’ – symbolises maturity, warmth and Mediterranean elegance.

The whisky is produced from a traditional grain blend of barley, wheat and rye, which gives it a particularly smooth, harmonious base. It is first matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which impart a fruity sweetness, depth and an elegant influence from southern Spain. It is bottled at 46 % ABV, is non-chill-filtered and contains no colouring – for an authentic tasting experience.

Tasting Note

Colour: Gold with an amber sheen.

Nose: Fruity and mellow with notes of raisins, vanilla, honey, dried plums, malt and sherry spice.

Palate: Round, creamy and well-balanced with flavours of caramel, dried fruit, subtle oak, toffee and a hint of chocolate.

Finish: Medium-long to long, warm and harmonious with a sweet sherry note and a gentle hint of spice.

PUNI SOLE is excellent enjoyed neat at room temperature, ideally in a nosing glass to allow the full range of flavours to unfold. Adding a few drops of water can also enhance its complexity.
