This liqueur has been produced in Latvia since 1752 according to a secret recipe passed down through the generations. It is based on the classic Riga Black Balsam, which is composed of over 24 different herbs, roots, flowers, berries and spices and is matured in oak barrels. In CHERRY, this traditional base is refined with the addition of fruity cherry notes, resulting in a particularly harmonious and modern taste experience.


It is produced according to time-honoured tradition: first, the herbs are macerated in alcohol; they are then blended using a special process and stored in oak barrels for several months. This barrel ageing lends the liqueur its depth and complexity, whilst the fruity cherry notes provide lightness and sweetness. With an alcohol content of 30% vol., it is milder than the classic balsam, yet remains aromatic and full of character. Bottled in the iconic black clay bottle that has characterised the balsam for centuries, it uniquely combines history and modernity.
