The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is a luxurious Highland single malt Scotch whisky, renowned for its masterful cask maturation and intense flavour profile. Produced at the renowned Dalmore Distillery, famous for its exceptional maturing methods, this whisky combines the sweet, fruity notes of Portuguese port casks with the classic elegance of a premium Dalmore single malt.

The maturation takes place in two stages: first, the whisky spends time in ex-American bourbon casks, which lend it its vanilla and caramel notes. It is then transferred to hand-selected tawny port casks from Portugal, where it develops its deep fruit flavours and spicy complexity. This unique finish ensures a perfect balance between sweetness, spice and woody notes.

With an alcohol content of 46.5% vol., the Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is robust and full-bodied – and is not chill-filtered to preserve its full character.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with reddish highlights.

Nose: Ripe red berries, dark cherries, orange marmalade, cocoa, vanilla and toasted oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and velvety, with flavours of dark chocolate, dried fruit, spicy oak, toffee and toasted almonds. The port wine notes lend it a delicate sweetness with hints of plums and berries.

Finish: Long and warming, with notes of caramel, nutmeg, delicate spices and a hint of espresso.

The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is excellent enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to further bring out its fruity and spicy notes. Its deep, sweet and spicy character makes it the perfect accompaniment to dark chocolate, crème brûlée or mature cheese. It also reveals its full complexity when paired with game dishes, roasted nuts or candied fruit.
