The Glen Grant 12 Years Old Single Malt comes from the renowned Glen Grant Distillery, which was founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant in Rothes, Scotland. Since its foundation, the distillery has built an excellent reputation for producing smooth, fruity and approachable whiskies that perfectly reflect the Speyside region. Glen Grant was one of the first distilleries to adopt the ‘continuous still’ process, an innovative method that ensures a higher purity of the distillate. This unique production method helps the Glen Grant 12 Years Old to stand out from the standard range with its remarkable freshness and clarity.

This 12-year-old single malt is produced by distillation in traditional pot stills, with the whisky maturing for 12 years in a combination of American and European oak casks. Maturation in different types of cask ensures a balanced development, in which fruity notes of apples and pears harmonise perfectly with the subtle oakiness. The end result is a full-bodied and complex whisky that reflects the expertise of the Glen Grant Distillery and ranks among the house’s most popular expressions.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Fresh aromas of green apples, pears and citrus fruits, complemented by notes of vanilla and floral herbs.

Palate: Full-bodied and rounded, with flavours of honey, cinnamon, a hint of oaky spice and a touch of almonds.

Finish: Long and smooth, with a pleasant fruity sweetness and a mild oaky spice that lingers gently.

Glen Grant 12 Years Old is excellent served neat or on the rocks to experience the full depth of its flavours. It pairs well with light dishes such as grilled fish, chicken or salads with goat’s cheese. The whisky also pairs perfectly with mature cheeses such as Cheddar or Comté. For a particularly sophisticated treat, it can also be wonderfully combined with dark chocolate or fruity desserts such as apple tart.
