The Kracher Winery is situated in the ‘Seewinkel’ region of Burgenland, Austria. Thanks to the warm, humid climate, evaporation from the lake and the evening mists, ideal conditions are created here for Botrytis cinerea, which forms the basis for outstanding sweet wines such as Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese. Gerhard Kracher continues to run the winery with the same dedication. In addition to its famous Trockenbeerenauslesen, the winery also produces Beerenauslesen, Auslesen, Eiswein and small quantities of dry white and red wine, and is regarded as one of Austria’s best-known wineries.

Kracher Trockenbeerenauslese Traminer Nouvelle Vague, made from 100 per cent Traminer grapes, is aged in new barriques. This ageing process gives the wine its complex aromas and characteristic depth. After the ageing phase, the wine is bottled and sealed with a natural cork.

Tasting Note

A medium golden-yellow colour in the glass. On the nose, fruity notes of orange zest and grapefruit, with hints of roses. On the palate, mineral and fruity, with notes of orange, grapefruit, tropical fruits, meadow herbs and roses. A long-lasting finish, accompanied by a delightful acidity.

Residual sugar: 158.4 g/l

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C

Pairs superbly with foie gras and tarte Tatin.
