Description
Description
In 1263, the chieftain of the Mackenzie clan saved King Alexander III from an attacking stag. In recognition of this, the King granted the Mackenzie clan the right to bear the emblem of the twelve-pointed royal stag in their coat of arms. When the clan’s descendants took over the Dalmore distillery in 1867, this royal stag became the symbol of Dalmore, which today proudly adorns every bottle. The exquisite single malts are matured in exceptional casks, hand-selected by Master Distiller Richard Paterson.
The Dalmore Distillery was founded in 1839 and is situated on the shores of Cromarty Firth in the northern Highlands. Dalmore uses water from the River Alness, which flows through the small town of the same name.
This Dalmore whisky is matured for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks. It is then finished for up to 3 years in Oloroso and PX casks.
