The Ole Smoky Distillery in the Smoky Mountains has a rich history stretching back over a century, beginning with the region’s first settlers. Despite this long-standing tradition, the production of moonshine was not always legal, until a change in the law in Tennessee made it possible to open the first state-licensed distillery in Gatlinburg.

Ole Smoky Moonshine Original is made from aged grain sourced from East Tennessee, thus remaining true to its local roots. This moonshine is produced according to a recipe dating back decades, consisting of 80 per cent grain; the remaining 20 per cent of the recipe remains a well-kept secret that gives Ole Smoky its distinctive character.
