Stauning RYE El Clásico Vermouth Casks Danish Whisky 45.7% vol. 0.7 litre is an exceptional Danish rye whisky from the renowned Stauning Distillery, which is located on the windy west coast of Denmark. The distillery is recognised as one of the most innovative producers in the European craft whisky sector and combines traditional craftsmanship with creative ideas. Stauning RYE El Clásico Danish Whisky is part of the distillery's experimental research series and represents an exciting combination of Scandinavian whisky tradition and Mediterranean flavours. This rye whisky is based on locally grown Danish rye and barley, which is traditionally malted on the distillery's own malting floors. This is followed by double distillation in 24 small, direct-fired copper pot stills, resulting in a particularly aromatic and richly textured whisky.


The whisky is first matured in new American white oak casks before being given a special finish in Spanish vermouth casks. This unusual cask combination is a tribute to the classic combination of rye whisky and sweet vermouth, which is known from the famous Manhattan cocktail. The result is a multi-layered Stauning Rye Whisky that displays a balance of spicy rye notes, sweet fruitiness and subtle herbal accents. The Stauning RYE El Clásico Vermouth Casks Danish Whisky is bottled at 45.7% vol., non-chill-filtered and unfiltered, fully preserving its natural structure and flavour density. The striking bottle label shows a demonic bull, designed by tattoo artist Thit Hansgaard, and emphasises the powerful character of this bottling.
