G. Rozelieures’ Tourbé (Peated) Collection Single Malt Whisky, 46% ABV, 0.7 l, is a distinctive single malt from Lorraine (France), produced by the family-run Grallet-Dupic distillery. What makes this bottling special is that ‘Tourbé’ is the French word for ‘peated’ – referring to the intensely smoky character of this whisky.

The distillery is renowned for carrying out the entire production process itself – from barley cultivation and malting through to distillation and maturation. The Tourbé Collection uses heavily peated malt, which gives the whisky its characteristic smokiness. Maturation takes place in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, which, alongside the dominant peaty note, also imparts sweet, fruity and spicy aromas.

At 46% ABV, with no chill filtration and no colouring, the whisky is presented in its pure, unadulterated form. The gift box makes it an attractive choice for lovers of peaty single malts who also appreciate French whisky craftsmanship.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden yellow with subtle amber highlights.

Nose: Intense peaty smoke, complemented by notes of vanilla, dried fruit and spices.

Palate: Full-bodied and robust with dominant smoke, malty sweetness, oak and subtle sherry notes.

Finish: Long-lasting, smoky and spicy with a hint of dark chocolate.

G. Rozelieures’ Tourbé (Peated) Collection reveals its full spectrum of flavours when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water. It pairs superbly with strong cheeses such as Roquefort, with grilled or smoked meats, and with dark chocolate with a high cocoa content. It also skilfully contributes its complex smoky and malty notes to a Smoky Old Fashioned or a Penicillin cocktail.
