John Glaser, an employee at a well-known British distillery, ushered in a new era in the world of whisky in 2000.
Together with his team at Compass Box, he has created textures and flavours that result from combining very old single malt and single grain whiskies from renowned Scottish distilleries, drawn from their own cask stocks.
The “Art & Decadence” blended Scotch is based on whiskies aged for up to 22 years in Sauternes, Marsala and Madeira casks. This limited edition is inspired by the Decadent movement of the late 19th century and offers opulent flavours of fruit, toffee, vanilla, chocolate and oak.
The whisky is non-chill-filtered, meaning it retains its natural flavours and oils, and it is also uncoloured, so its colour is derived solely from the maturation process and the types of cask used.
Limited to 9,126 bottles.
