The grapes for this Marsala Superiore come from selected vineyards around the town of Marsala in Sicily. Typical grape varieties of the region such as Grillo, Catarratto and Inzolia form the basis for this aromatic, sweet Marsala wine. After fermentation, the wine is fortified with alcohol and then matured in oak barrels, developing its characteristic depth, structure and complexity. With 18% alcohol by volume, this Marsala Superiore Sweet is full-bodied, smooth and elegant. The 2020 vintage shows a harmonious style with pronounced flavours and a classic Marsala structure.

Tasting Note

The glass is a warm amber colour with golden reflections, the nose reveals aromas of dried fruit, honey and fine spicy notes, on the palate the Marsala is soft and full-bodied with sweet notes of caramel, sultanas and nuts accompanied by a harmonious structure, the finish is round, elegant and long-lasting.

The Vecchioflorio Marsala Superiore Sweet 2020 is ideal as a dessert wine with tiramisu, caramel desserts, nut cakes or chocolate specialities. This Marsala wine from Sicily also harmonises particularly well with blue cheese, almonds, dried fruit or classic Sicilian desserts. Marsala Superiore Sweet is also often used in Italian cuisine to flavour desserts, sauces or traditional dishes.
