It is based on carefully selected, matured rums produced from Dominican sugar cane juice. Following the standard ageing process, the blend undergoes an additional finish in ex-port wine casks, which adds extra depth to the classic characteristics of Barceló Imperial and imparts a distinct influence from the Portuguese fortified wine. The combination of tropical rum ageing and a port cask finish makes this bottling an interesting alternative within Barceló’s premium range.
