The Compass Box Vellichor blended malt with an alcohol content of 44.6% vol. is an exquisite and complex whisky that presents a masterful composition of various high-quality malt whiskies and a careful selection of casks.

Compass Box has created this blended malt from a mixture of whiskies from different distilleries and regions, offering a unique depth and variety of flavours. The blend is made up of 12.1% Macallan single malt, 38.9% Highland Park single malt, 15.6% blended Scotch parcel, 29.3% blended malt parcel and 4.1% Caol Ila single malt.

The whisky is matured in a fascinating selection of casks, including first fill bourbon barrels, recharred hogsheads, refill sherry butts and refill hogsheads. These casks give the Vellichor an incredible complexity, characterised by aromas of warm spices, fruity notes and a fine oak spiciness. The whisky takes on the best characteristics of each cask type to offer a harmonious but multi-layered flavour experience.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold with amber reflections.

Nose: Complex aromas of dried fruit, cinnamon, vanilla and a fine oak note that immediately create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Flavour: Full-bodied and smooth, with a harmonious blend of ripe fruit, spices, a light spiciness and a soft vanilla note that balance the whisky.

Finish: Langs and smooth, with a gentle oak warmth and a fruity note that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

Compass Box Vellichor Blended Scotch Whisky is ideal for drinking neat or with a drop of water to experience the flavours even more intensely. This whisky goes perfectly with mature cheeses such as Comté or Cheddar as well as fruity desserts such as apple strudel or tarte tatin and harmoniously complements the flavours.
