The Torabhaig Distillery is the second licensed single malt Scotch whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye.

Some time ago, they decided to convert an old farmstead in Torabhaig into a distillery. Following a painstaking four-year restoration and construction period, Torabhaig has been a fully operational distillery since January 2017.

Between 2024 and 2028, a limited edition from the Torabhaig Legacy Series will be released each year. Each release in this series marks a significant milestone on the journey towards the distillery’s 10th anniversary. For any lover of single malt or peated whisky, this is a unique opportunity to experience the evolution of the Torabhaig distillery and its distinctive philosophy of whisky-making.

Torabhaig Cnoc Na Mòine heralds the third chapter of this series. The whisky is matured in ex-bourbon, American oak Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks. The sherry casks in this edition lend it a sweet, rich flavour and a deeper colour. The name Cnoc Na Mòine means ‘peat hill’ and refers to its geographical location in Knoydart, which can be seen from the distillery across the Sound of Sleat.

This exclusive limited edition will no longer be bottled after 2024.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep gold.

Nose: Orange peel, spicy fruit, a hint of peaty smoke, vanilla, oaky notes.

Palate: Peppery, spicy, a hint of balsamic acidity, peat, BBQ notes, cedar wood, leather, hints of sherry.

Finish: Long-lasting, harmonious, hints of sherry, peat, spices.
