The Hennessy distillery, based in Cognac, France, was founded in 1765 by Richard Hennessy. Today, the company is run by the eighth generation of the Hennessy family. Richard Hennessy, an officer who had emigrated from Ireland, founded ‘Jas Hennessy & Co’, laying the foundations for the company’s development into an internationally recognised cognac producer.

Hennessy uses only grapes grown in the Cognac region for the production of its cognac. Following double distillation in copper stills, the eaux-de-vie is produced, which forms the basis for all the house’s cognac varieties.

Hennessy V.S.O.P, a blend of more than 60 different eaux-de-vie, is renowned for its balance and harmony. The designation V.S.O.P (Very Superior Old Pale) indicates both the cognac’s advanced age and its high quality.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark mahogany.

Nose: Spicy, fruity, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, pineapple.

Palate: Well-balanced, dark fruits, exotic spices, raisins.

Finish: Long-lasting, fruity.
