MICHAEL Cabernet Sauvignon Burgenland is a powerful, complex red wine that owes its unique character to the Mediterranean-Pannonian climate of Central Burgenland and the meticulous winemaking process at Weingut Michael. The region’s warm summers and cool nights allow the grapes to ripen to perfection and ensure an impressive balance between fruit, spice and structure. This premium red wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and is an elegant, complex expression of its grape variety, impressing with its depth, finesse and exceptional ageing potential.

Following a careful harvest, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak, which imparts a fine tannin structure and subtle toasted aromas. The oak ageing lends it additional complexity and ensures a harmonious blend of fruit and spice. The wine is sealed with a natural cork to optimally support its development in the bottle. It is ready to drink after at least 5 years, meaning it can be enjoyed young or allowed to mature further over several years.

Its structure and depth make it the perfect wine for special occasions or enjoyable evenings, when it can also unfold wonderfully on its own. Thanks to its excellent ageing potential, it gains even more refinement and complexity with the passing years.

Tasting Note

A dense, deep ruby red with violet highlights in the glass. The bouquet is intense and complex, with aromas of blackcurrants, dark wild berries and ripe cherries, accompanied by subtle notes of dark chocolate, tobacco and vanilla. On the palate, it displays a full-bodied, velvety texture, with perfectly integrated tannins and an elegant spiciness. The finish is long, harmonious and multi-layered, with hints of fine oak and dark berries.

This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs superbly with grilled or braised beef, lamb or game dishes. It also pairs beautifully with mature cheeses and hearty stews.
