Distillation took place in 2018 from the 2017 harvest, using exclusively Concerto barley from the Scottish mainland. This lends the whisky a powerful maltiness that harmoniously complements the distinctive peaty smoke.

Five years’ maturation in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks and re-charred ex-bourbon casks ensures an intense extraction of aromas from the wood. The result is a whisky that embodies the quintessential Octomore DNA: brutally smoky, yet at the same time complex, balanced and with impressive depth. It is bottled at cask strength at 59.1% ABV, naturally without chill filtration or added colouring, to preserve the full authenticity and character of this super-heavily peated Islay malt.
