Since its foundation in 1822, the Fonseca brand has been synonymous with excellent port and has established itself as a byword for exceptional quality. With more than two centuries of experience, Fonseca combines traditional winemaking expertise with a spirit of innovation and a deep understanding of port production. Production takes place in the renowned vineyards of Portugal’s Douro Valley, which is considered one of the oldest and most prestigious wine regions in the world. The unique terroir is characterised by steep slopes and mineral-rich soils, which shape the flavour of the port wines.

The 20-year-old Tawny Port is a testament to the highest level of craftsmanship, combining elegance with a velvety-smooth texture and finely balanced spice. The blend is crafted from the classic grape varieties Tinta Barroca, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cão and Tempranillo (Aragonez), which are renowned for their aromatic intensity and longevity.

As a vintage blend, this Tawny Port combines wines that have been aged for at least 20 years in small 550-litre oak casks. This extended cask ageing results in complex aromas, a warm colour and a smooth, harmonious flavour profile.

The Fonseca Porto 20 Year Old is ready to drink now, but has further ageing potential of up to 4 years.

Colour: Yellow-brown.

Nose: Fruity, with notes of ripe berries and spices.

Palate: Full-bodied, ripe stone fruit, blackberries, warm notes of cinnamon, vanilla, smooth butterscotch.

Finish: Long-lasting, elegant, full-bodied.

For optimal enjoyment, serve at a temperature of 10–14 °C.
