Reservoir Virginia Wheat Whiskey Batch 1 Year 2023 is a powerful yet smooth expression from Reservoir Distillery, an independent craft distillery based in Richmond, Virginia (USA). This small-batch edition forms part of the Single-Grain Whiskey series, in which each grain variety is processed individually. The grain base used here consists of 100 % regional wheat, which gives the whiskey its characteristic mildness and creaminess.

It is matured for around a year in new, heavily charred American white oak casks. Despite the short maturation period, the intense toasting of the casks brings out rich aromas and gives the whisky a lovely balance of smoothness, sweetness and woody notes. With an alcohol content of 50 % vol., it is bottled in small batches, unfiltered and without additives – for a pure, unadulterated taste experience.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber with a warm coppery sheen.

Nose: Smooth, malty and sweet with aromas of vanilla, honey, fresh dough, buttered toast and a hint of oaky spice.

Palate: Smooth and full-bodied with notes of caramel, butter biscuit, toffee, light spices and toasted bread.

Finish: Medium to long, pleasantly warming with sweet, spicy tones and a gentle woody aftertaste.
