The Botanist Islay Cask Aged Gin is a particularly refined interpretation of the multi-award-winning The Botanist Dry Gin, produced at the renowned Bruichladdich Distillery on the Scottish island of Islay. This exclusive bottling is based on the classic recipe featuring 22 wild-harvested botanicals from Islay, but is subsequently matured in carefully selected oak casks that were previously used for Islay whisky. This cask ageing results in a cask-aged distilled gin that combines complex depth with floral freshness and herbal aromas.

With an alcohol content of 46% ABV, this Cask Aged Gin is full-bodied, warm and perfectly balanced. The maturation in wooden casks adds new dimensions to the floral and spicy character of The Botanist Gin – including subtle notes of vanilla and caramel, gentle woody spice and a hint of smoky Islay elegance, without overshadowing the distinct juniper core.

Nose: Floral freshness with lemon zest, thyme, vanilla, a hint of wood smoke and dried herbs.

Palate: Smooth and expressive with juniper, dried flowers, oaky spice, a hint of caramel sweetness and a subtle woody texture.

Finish: Long-lasting and harmonious with warm cask notes, botanical clarity and a delicate hint of salt and smoke.

The Botanist Cask Aged Gin is ideal for enjoying neat at room temperature – much like a whisky or rum. Alternatively, it can be elegantly incorporated into cocktails with a barrel-aged character, such as a Barrel-Aged Negroni, a Gin Old Fashioned or a Smoky Martini with grapefruit zest.
