The Hans Igler Vulcano Cuvée Burgenland 2021 is a powerful yet elegant red wine blend that brings together the very best of Central Burgenland. The long-established Weingut Hans-Igler, situated in Deutschkreutz at the heart of Blaufränkisch country, has for decades been synonymous with quality wines of depth, character and international standing. There, terroir-driven red wines are crafted with great care, impressively reflecting the Pannonian climate and the mineral-rich soils.

This cuvée brings together four high-quality grape varieties: Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zweigelt. This combination lends the wine structure, complexity and elegance. The Vulcano 2021 is characterised by a harmonious interplay of fruit, spice and a ripe tannin structure. Thanks to its well-integrated alcohol content of 13.5% vol. and balanced body, it is ready to drink whilst still young, yet also has ageing potential. A true classic from Burgenland, combining Austrian expertise in red wine with international standards.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Hans Igler Vulcano displays a deep ruby-garnet colour with violet highlights and a subtle lightening towards the rim – a reflection of its youth and concentration. The nose reveals a complex bouquet with subtle notes of blackberries, a hint of nougat, candied orange zest, nuances of cocoa and delicate notes of cassis. On the palate, the wine is juicy and firm, with well-integrated tannins and a delicately spicy texture. The finish features red cherry fruit, a fresh bouquet and a long, elegant aftertaste. The wine impresses with its depth, balance and aromatic complexity.

The Hans Igler Vulcano is the ideal accompaniment to grilled beef, braised game dishes, herb-crusted lamb chops or dark poultry with roasted flavours.
