The Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2022 is a characterful, mature red wine from the renowned Marchesi Antinori estate, one of Italy's oldest and most prestigious wineries with a wine tradition dating back to 1385. This Riserva wine is made exclusively from grapes from the Chianti Classico region - a centrepiece of Tuscany - and is aged in barriques and large wooden barrels after fermentation to develop its complexity, structure and elegance.

The cuvée is predominantly based on Sangiovese, supplemented by small proportions of international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which gives the wine depth, flavour and longevity. The 2022 vintage impresses with excellent balance, expressiveness and a modern, finely defined style that will delight both traditional Chianti lovers and international connoisseurs. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., it offers power and elegance at the same time - a typical Riserva with great ageing potential.

Tasting Note

The Villa Antinori Riserva 2022 has a deep, bright ruby red colour with garnet reflections in the glass. The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe cherry, dark berries, violets and dried herbs, accompanied by fine notes of tobacco, vanilla, leather and toasted wood. On the palate, it is structured and full-bodied, with supple tannins, lively acidity and a finely spiced, long-lasting finish with balsamic nuances and mineral depth.

The Chianti Classico Riserva is an excellent accompaniment to grilled or braised meat, especially roast beef, rack of lamb or game dishes. It also harmonises perfectly with mature pecorino, truffle pasta, porcini mushroom risotto or a classic lasagne al forno. Ideally, decant before serving and serve at a temperature of 16-18 °C.
