The Octomore EDITION: 16.3 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt 61.6% ABV 0.7 l in a tin box is the most uncompromising bottling in the 16 series from the legendary Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay. Since its launch, Octomore has been synonymous with extremes, intensity and innovation. With a staggering phenol content of 189.5 ppm, it is the most heavily peated whisky in the triumvirate and delights lovers of smoky Islay malts worldwide.


With an alcohol content of 61.6% vol., it is also the strongest edition in this series. It was matured for five years in an extraordinary combination of ex-bourbon casks, fine Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and other sherry casks, which lend it additional complexity. This variety of casks creates a unique interplay of intense peaty notes, sweet fruity nuances, spicy woody influences and an elegant balance, making this whisky a true collector’s item. It is bottled at natural colour, unfiltered, and presented in an elegant tin box, which further emphasises its exclusivity.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with coppery highlights.

Nose: Intense peaty smoke, maritime notes, tar, along with vanilla, dried fruit and sherry sweetness.

Palate: Extremely powerful, with dominant smoke, dark chocolate, oak, sweet spices and a delicate citrus freshness.

Finish: Exceptionally long, smoky, spicy and profound, with lingering notes of sherry and oak.

The Octomore 16.3 Super Heavily Peated is a whisky for special moments of indulgence and should be enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to allow its complex aromas to unfold.
