Stauning KAOS Triple Malt Danish Whisky DIY Edition Batch 2 – 2023 46% ABV 0.7 l is a distinctive Danish whisky from the renowned Stauning Distillery, which is based on Denmark’s rugged west coast and is known for its uncompromising approach to craft whisky. This special bottling combines several of the distillery’s whisky styles into a multi-layered triple malt whisky, blending single malt whisky, malted rye whisky and heather- and peat-smoked single malt. The result is an exceptional Danish whisky that harmoniously blends fruity, spicy and slightly smoky nuances. The name KAOS derives from the famous motto ‘Stauning eller Kaos’ of the Danish Minister of State Thorvald Stauning (1873–1943), who is regarded as one of the founders of the modern Danish welfare state. This historical reference underscores the character of the bottling, in which apparent chaos is transformed into a harmonious composition.


Stauning KAOS Triple Malt Danish Whisky is produced from 100 per cent locally grown barley and rye, which are traditionally malted in-house on malting floors at the distillery. This is followed by double distillation in 24 small, directly fired copper pot stills, resulting in a particularly aromatic and complex whisky. Maturation takes place in a combination of heavily charred virgin American oak casks, first-fill Maker’s Mark bourbon casks, and other fortified wine and spirit casks, which lend the whisky additional depth and structure. This DIY Edition Batch 2 from 2023 is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill-filtered, ensuring that its natural texture and aromatic richness are fully preserved.
