Description
Description
The Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Chardonnay 2024 is an elegant, sun-kissed white wine from the Languedoc that embodies the Mediterranean zest for life – the ‘Art de Vivre’ – in its purest form. It comes from carefully selected vineyards stretching along the French Mediterranean coast, which lend the wine its distinctive character.
The region’s soils are extremely diverse, consisting of hard limestone from the garrigue, slate and river-borne pebbles. This terroir lends the wine its mineral freshness and aromatic depth. The semi-arid Mediterranean climate, with its mild winters and the influence of the sea and the altitude, ensures a perfect balance between the ripeness and freshness of the grapes. The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay and vinified with the utmost care to preserve the full expressiveness of the grape variety. With an alcohol content of 13.5% vol., the Côte des Roses Chardonnay displays a modern, balanced style – creamy, fresh and aromatic all at once.
The iconic bottle deserves special mention; its base is shaped like a rose – designed by a young designer from the renowned École Boulle in Paris. It symbolises the beauty, elegance and refinement that also characterise this wine – a Chardonnay that presents itself like a ‘bouquet of roses’: sensual, fragrant and full of life.
Tasting Note
In the glass, the Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Chardonnay 2024 glows with a pale golden-yellow colour and green highlights. On the nose, aromas of white flowers, ripe peaches, pears and a hint of vanilla and hazelnut unfold. On the palate, it is soft, round and harmonious, with a delicate freshness, a creamy texture and a mineral finish.
This Chardonnay from the Languedoc is an excellent accompaniment to grilled fish, poultry, creamy pasta dishes, risotto or mild cheeses. It also makes for a stylish aperitif, bringing Mediterranean elegance to the glass. Served at 10–12 °C, it reveals its full richness and aromatic depth – a wine that combines summer, sunshine and the French joie de vivre.
