The Dos Maderas PX 5+5 Years Old Triple Aged Spirit Drink combines Caribbean distillates with the traditional cask culture of the Spanish Sherry Triangle in Andalusia. It begins with selected distillates from Barbados and Guyana, which are first matured for five years in the Caribbean. They are then transported to Jerez de la Frontera, where the second phase of this special ageing process begins. There, they are first stored for three years in former Palo Cortado sherry casks, followed by a further two years in casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez sherry. This results in a total maturation period of 5+5 years across different types of cask and climate zones, which gives Dos Maderas its full-bodied, mature and smooth character.

The Dos Maderas PX 5+5 Triple Aged Spirit Drink is bottled at 40% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle. The final maturation in Pedro Ximénez casks shapes the distinctive blend of dark fruit, sherry character and spicy oak. The Spanish maturation is overseen by the long-established house of Williams & Humbert, whose history in Jerez dates back to the 19th century. Tasting Note

Colour: Dark amber.

Nose: Full-bodied and mature, with figs and raisins, accompanied by sweet spices, sherry and spicy oak.

Palate: Smooth and rich with ripe dark fruits, tropical spices and pronounced Pedro Ximénez sherry notes, complemented by smoky oak and subtle hints of tobacco.

Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and spicy with dark fruit, sweet sherry, oak and a hint of tobacco.

The Dos Maderas PX 5+5 is at its best when enjoyed neat at around 18 to 20 °C and can be served directly in the two glasses provided. Dark chocolate, chocolate desserts, dried fruit and roasted nuts pair well with its opulent PX sherry character. Traditionally, this spirit is also ideal as an accompaniment to a cigar. At the same time, its full-bodied character lends itself to classic, spirit-based cocktails such as an Old Fashioned or a Rum Manhattan.
