This exceptional Philippine rum is distilled on the island of Negros under the influence of the volcanic climate around Mount Kanlaon and combines traditional production with elaborate barrel ageing. As an exclusive small batch rum, this bottling stands for the highest level of craftsmanship, individuality and a particularly intense style.


This double barrel aged rum is first matured in ex-bourbon American oak barrels before undergoing a long post-maturing process in selected port casks. This elaborate port cask finish gives the Don Papa Quincentennial Edition rum exceptional depth and an unmistakable character. As a one-off edition, this premium rum from the Philippines was bottled with an increased 50% ABV, resulting in a particularly powerful and full-bodied structure. Only 500 individually numbered bottles are available worldwide, making this collector's rum edition a rare rarity. This bottling is presented in an elaborately designed, hinged gift box in a bottle design with gold lettering accents, which further emphasises its exclusive character.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light amber, reddish reflections.

Nose: Deep, intense, liquorice, polished wood, dark chocolate, muscovado sugar, blood orange, red berries, vanilla.

Flavour: Full-bodied, complex, toasted oak, cinnamon, Arabica coffee, toffee, vanilla, fruit notes, brown sugar.

Finish: Very long, dry, cocoa, dried figs, lingering.

This limited Philippines rum is ideal as a digestif after intense dishes such as fillet of beef, braised game or BBQ dishes and harmonises particularly well with dark chocolate, desserts with cocoa, figs or caramelised nuts. It also goes perfectly with strong cheeses or as an accompaniment to a cigar on special occasions.
