Benromach PEAT SMOKE Speyside Single Malt 2014 46% ABV 0.7l in a gift box online kaufen
The Benromach PEAT SMOKE 2014 Speyside Single Malt is a characterful small-batch release that impressively demonstrates that Speyside, too, can produce intensely peated whisky. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 after nine years of maturation, this Speyside single malt Scotch whisky embodies the traditional style of the Benromach Distillery, combined with a pronounced peaty character.
Produced from heavily peated barley with a phenol content of 57 PPM, this heavily peated Speyside whisky ranks among the more powerful examples from its region. Maturation takes place exclusively in first-fill bourbon casks, resulting in a clear structure with fresh vanilla notes. Matured for nine years in carefully selected oak casks, the Benromach Peat Smoke 2014 develops a harmonious blend of sweetness, fruit and smoke. Bottled at 46 per cent, without unduly altering its natural structure, this peated single malt from Speyside offers an authentic, expressive profile. It is presented in a gift box, ensuring that this vintage bottling is visually impressive too.
Tasting Note
Colour: Pale gold, with clear highlights, luminous.
Nose: Vanilla, lemon sorbet, apricot, peaty smoke, subtle oak.
Palate: Creamy vanilla, citrus freshness, ripe stone fruit, spicy smoke, slight sweetness.
Finish: Smoky campfire embers, dry, slightly spicy, well-balanced, long-lasting.
The Benromach Peat Smoke 2014 pairs superbly with smoked salmon, BBQ ribs or grilled steak, as its smoky character perfectly complements the roasted flavours. It also harmonises beautifully with mature Cheddar or a tangy blue cheese. When it comes to desserts, it pairs particularly well with lemon tart, apricot cake or vanilla custard, as the whisky’s fruity notes emphasise the sweetness. Even when enjoyed neat in a nosing glass after a multi-course dinner, this heavily peated Speyside single malt reveals its complex balance of bourbon cask sweetness and intense peaty character, delivering a powerful, long-lasting finish.
