Description
Description
The Tschermonegg Pinot Gris Leutschach Südsteiermark DAC 2025, in a 0.75-litre bottle, is an expressive Pinot Gris from Austria that impressively reflects the typical style of the renowned Südsteiermark DAC. This elegant Styrian white wine comes from Leutschach, one of the best-known wine-growing villages in South Styria, and combines regional character with modern precision and depth of character. The Pinot Gris grape variety is particularly terroir-driven and harmonious in this DAC white wine, making it an excellent choice both as a high-quality accompaniment to food and as a versatile wine for pure enjoyment.
This Austrian quality wine is aged for eight months on the fine lees in large, used wooden barrels. This gives the barrel-aged Pinot Gris additional structure, a delicate creaminess and elegant complexity. Its South Styrian origin lends the wine a precise spiciness and a clear balance between power and freshness. At 13% ABV, this South Styrian Pinot Gris possesses a pleasant body and a stylish finish, making it particularly versatile. The practical screw cap preserves the wine’s freshness perfectly and ensures hassle-free enjoyment. Thanks to its ageing potential of up to five years, this Styrian DAC wine is also ideal for further maturation. For lovers of full-bodied Pinot Gris, Austrian white wine, South Styrian wine and elegant oak-aged wines, this vintage offers an authentic and characterful tasting experience.
Tasting Note
In the glass, it displays a radiant golden-yellow colour with coppery highlights and a dense viscosity. On the nose, spicy herbal aromas unfold, accompanied by notes of yellow chanterelles and delicate fruity nuances with a character typical of Southern Styria. On the palate, the wine is powerful, dense and juicy, with a clear structure, elegant herbal spice and yellow fruit. The finish is long, delicate and spicy, with lingering elegance.
The Tschermonegg Pinot Gris Südsteiermark DAC pairs superbly with delicate poultry dishes such as guinea fowl breast with herb jus, roast chicken or tender veal. This Austrian white wine also pairs beautifully with pan-fried salmon trout, char or aromatic fish dishes featuring creamy elements. Vegetarian dishes such as king oyster mushrooms on creamy polenta, mushroom risotto or oven-roasted vegetables with rosemary also complement the spicy character of this Pinot Gris from Southern Styria perfectly. Served at 8–10 °C, this DAC wine from Austria reveals its elegant structure and aromatic depth in a particularly balanced way.
