To achieve its characteristic style, whiskies from carefully selected first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak casks and first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak casks are blended together. Complemented by selected refill casks, this creates an exceptionally well-balanced blend of spicy sweetness, fruitiness and the typically gentle smokiness of Orkney heather peat. The natural golden amber colour comes directly from the casks. At 40% ABV, this Island single malt whisky impresses with its harmonious structure and versatile character.

Tasting Note

Colour: Natural gold with amber highlights.

Nose: Seville oranges, fruit cake, heather honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and subtle heather and peat smoke.

Palate: Full-bodied and well-balanced with sweet spice, roasted orange, jasmine, fruit cake, malt, heather honey and gentle smoky notes.

Finish: Medium-long to long-lasting with peppery spice, orange zest, woody notes, heather and subtle hints of peaty smoke.

The Highland Park 12 Years Old Spicy & Well-Rounded is ideal for enjoying neat and reveals its aromas particularly well at room temperature. Its sweet, spicy and balanced profile pairs superbly with game dishes, spiced biscuits, fruit bread, Brie, Camembert or other mild soft cheeses.
